Racing Hondas 2025 Donnington Park - Hondas
For our second outing in the Racing Hondas Championship we found ourselves at Donnington Park for JDM Jam with Jackson White in his own car and our two hire cars again being driven by Duncan Holloway and James Kembrey . After a successful days testing only a few days prior we were confident coming into this weekend but little did we know we were in for a day of trials and tribulations across the team !
Race 1 - After an abrupt end to qualifying for Duncan due to a gearbox failure left his mechanics needing to make a swift gearbox change between qualifying and race 1 all cars were ready to go out for a very wet race 1 . This was a challenging race for our drivers , Jackson suffered with lower arm failure but managed to make it to the end of the race but further down the pack than he wanted to be , Duncan had an incident with a Class C driver which put him off the track at Starkey's bridge , he did get back on track but left him in last place, too far behind now to gain places back Duncan had to make the best of the situation and use his time to gain experience and confidence in wet conditions . James race was a frustrating one as he was down on power on the straights leaving him open to being overtaken by the class C cars only to come back past in the corners , once back in the paddock his mechanics were able to check over the car and we realised the exhaust manifold was damaged leaving him down on power and his car in a non race worthy condition !
Race 2 - Unfortunately there was no quick fix for James broken exhaust manifold which was beyond repair and in need of replacement so he had to sit this one out , not the end to the day we wanted after the promise he showed at his first outing at Cadwell Park . Both Jackson and Duncan had a trouble free race in mixed conditions which is always tricky, putting in consistent lap times, gaining more experience and improving on their race finishes from our last outing .
